Door Handle

Design for Context:

During sophomore year at Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT), I was assigned a design for context project. The objective of the assignment was to design a door handle and door, which needed to describe and represent what was on the other side.

I chose to design a door handle for a wine cellar. The door handle uses elements from the vine, leaf, and grape form, while the door itself uses a slat system to mimic a wine barrel, and allows for light to pass through the frosted glass in order to represent the rising sun over the vineyard.
